Question:

Climate in Brisbane?

I am planning a trip to Brisbane in late nov this year. Are there anything that I would have to take note of when packing for the trip?

Also, how are the temperature fluctuations during the day and night time? I have done my research but have gotten very conflicting info, with some websites stating that day time temperatures would be in the 30s and during night time cooling down to around low 20s. While some other sites stated that its very hot and humid during summer. Could some one advise on this, if possible giving me temperature ranges rather than just stating its hot or cool. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  1. November will be fairly hot depending on when summer comes around (late or early). Generally be prepared for temperatures at or around 30 in the day and low 20's at night. It's a really nice time of year to go though, as generally, it's not extreme heat (unless summer comes really early, but you'll hear about this before you get there no doubt). Just don't bring a lot in the way of warm clothing, you'll be sufficient with a pair of jeans and a jumper or two just in case.

Can be a bit humid at times too, but that's queensland for you, cotton clothing will solve this problem.

  2. You are American, aren't you?  The rest of the world uses a thing called Celsius degrees to measure temperature.  Look it up.  The statements you say are conflicting aren't.  It will be hot and humid.

  3. If you are coming to Brisbane in November, bring your own fan! it will be hot, anything from 28-35 deg Celsius in the day and 15 at night if you are lucky.  The flying bugs will bite you, the people next door will BBQ and tempt you with flavours and some kid will be splashing in a pool somewhere close.  My suggestion is, bring lots of shorts, sandals, hats, sun block, drink lots of water and ENJOY!

  4. I guess it will be warmer.  It is INDEED summer when in November.  Just imagine the bush fire..but hei..its ok as u can wear something light rather than bringing thick clothes.  I am planning to go there too in end Nov.  Probably we can meet ?

  5. There's no contradiction whatsoever in the climate information you've been given. The US is, I believe, the only developed country that doesn't use metric measurements of temperature, distance, volume etc. It's difficult for us to imagine that you wouldn't know that the US is the 'odd man out' and that everyone else throughout the world has adopted the metric system for everything.

Brisbane's climate in November is invariably hot and reasonably humid, with mean temperatures of between 18.0C and 27.3C. In farenheit, that's between 64.4F and 81.1F with a 3.00pm relative humidity of 57%. Late November will be a little warmer and a little more humid, and the sea temperature will be over 23C every day, so you'll be able to swim in the sea whernever you wish. Note that these are the means. It will probably get a bit hotter some days (I can distinctly remember a 41C/105.8F day in November some years ago) and it may get a little cooler some nights (but not much cooler), and shorts, light skirts, skimpy tops, t-shirts, skimpy clothing 24 hours 'round is all you'll need and you'll be able to swim whenever you wish. You won't need any warm clothing at all - not even a light jacket.
