My daughter usually plays on the floor with her toys and will entertain herself. She'll crawl up in my lap whaen she wants to be held or let me hold her when I want. But lately my husband and I cant take a step without tripping over her. We can't sit down without her wanting to be in our laps or jumping all over us. We show her plenty of attention and love. But this is getting rediculous, and it's weird because it came out of nowhere. Does any one have good advice that doesn't include the phrase "It's normal, give it time" ?

  5. im in the same boat and i understand exactly how u feel i cant move out of his sight, i dont understand why this is either as he does get almost all my time but it doesnt seem enough and ive two older kids to spend time with too. when i have to get something done and hes hanging from my leg i usuallly sit him down and give him a few different things to play with not his usual toys more  like an empty food box and a few spoons and platic bowls or few potatoes and a saucepan it usually distracts him away from me or if he is wanting to be up with me all the time i get up and walk away and encourage him to follow me along and again give a few distractions and move away if he keeps following me and pulling to come up i just sit him back with his toys again he soon realises he cant be up with me at that moment. so its all about distraction really give him fun different things to do and well he will get out of it in time it is true.hope this helps

  6. My 14 month old started to do the very same thing just recently. If we leave the room he follows us, whining, and then he stands holding on to our clothes wanting to be picked up. Then, if we sit down to hold him, he will stay one minute and then wants to be down again. I don't remember our first child being like this and it is very tough at times. I don't think it means that you are neglecting them in anyway (I don't neglect mine, other than when I have to cook dinner or see to my eldest son) and is just a phase they go through. Separation anxiety becomes pretty prevalent at this age and I would assume that is what is happening. As for any solutions - I am not sure there are any!

  7. Try some lavender. Give her a bath and rub some soothing powder on her. This tends to calm them down a little.
