Clinical claims the EBF Fillies’ Stakes at Cologne on 27th October
On 27th October the EBF Normandie Stud Fleur De Lys Fillies’ Stakes got concluded with Sir Mark Prescott’s under charge Clinical claiming the race. The three-year-old filly of Motivator Doctor’s Glory was ridden to victory by Seb Sanders.
Clinical began her career on July 2010 by winning the maiden stakes that were held at Doncaster. Throughout this season she has run five times and collected two victories in the process. She has been ridden by Seb Sanders throughout with the exception of
a race at Salisbury on 10th August where she had Chris Catlin aboard.
The Stakes on 27th October were contested by eleven eager to win the title. It was Sooraah trained by William Haggas and being ridden by Ryan Moore who went through the wire second. Marco Botti saw his trained, Mosqueras Romance finishing the
race right after the runner up.
The pair started racing neck to neck at the beginning with the leader, The Shrew, until the pair rode out to lead for over one furlong out. The stages towards the finish did prove to be tricky but the two handled it tactfully and broke through the wire before
any other horse could.
Some entries that did make the race a challenge to win, include James Fanshawe trained Avon Lady who finished fourth, Mahmood Al Zarooni’s entry, Zoowraa positioned fifth followed by The Shrew trained by John Gosden.
Managing director for Cheveley had proposed that the three-year-old Clinical should now be sent into retirement but the trainer, Mark Prescott countered and said that one more race was a possibility and they would also evaluate that how exactly she turns
out in spring.
Prescott added: "There are several mares from that family and you can often add to the family by continuing to race rather than breeding”.
Right before this victory on 25th September, the Ilse Und Heinz Ramm-Erinnerungsrennen at Cologne was won by Clinical. She had set Manfred Hofer’s entry, Julie’s Love at a loss as she qualified to be a runner up.
Third participant to win the race was Jardina who is being trained by P Schiergen and was being ridden by A Starke.
The future plans for the rising star have not yet been finalized but apparently the connections do not want her to retire until and unless she does have the potential to perform.
