Clinical in form to tackle the tricky line-up of the Windsor Forest Stakes at the Ascot
The Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes (Fillies & Mares) has kept the attention span specifically on the market leaders, Emulous and Nahrain. Their potential and ability goes unquestioned but a silent interesting contestant with chances of upsetting the leading
duo is, Clinical.
Battling for the £56,710 prize money event are thirteen four-year and older runners at Ascot over a mile on Wednesday, 20th June.
Motivator’s four-year-old bay filly out of mare, Doctor’s Glory, cracked into the new season magnificently and gained a step up to the Group races. She won the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Investec) on 1st June at Epsom over
a mile and half a furlong.
Accompanied by Luke Morris, she led the runner up of the race, Joviality, by just ¾ of a length, reflecting the extent of effort that she had to put in for escaping the reeling in rival.
Coming at terms with the third position was Barefoot Lady while the 13/8 favourite, Lay Time, ended fifth. The favourite, the runner up and the third position holder are colliding again today. Clinical has lined them up behind her on the other end of the
wire before and is capable of doing just the same again.
She enjoys the impeccable record of four neat strokes out of the last five outings. The one that she did miss was a third place.
Managing director for owners Cheveley Park Stud, Chris Richardson, said: "She's in good form. She probably would prefer the ground to be on the quicker side, which could be a bit of a concern.
"But at this point in time, I think Sir Mark is happy for her to take her chance.
"He is happy with her at home and obviously it's a tough race like all of them at Royal Ascot, but this is the natural next step for her after her win at Epsom.
"The ground would be my one concern, so hopefully we get a dry day and a dry night to help."
Shooting out of the tenth stall with 14/1 odds under belt and the guidance to be given by the familiar jockey, Luke Morris, can easily go in her favour if she keeps up with the recent consistency that she has displayed time and again.
