Clinical oozing with chances for the Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Investec) at Epsom
The Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Investec) (Fillies & Mares) will be hosted by Epsom over a mile and one hundred and fourteen yards on Friday, 1st June. The line-up of eight is a mix of those who have raced during the new season and those who will race their seasonal debut today.
The prize money set for the winner is £31,191.
Clinical, Motivator’s four-year-old grey filly out of mare, Doctor’s Glory, will race her seasonal debut today. Out of the seven starts that she under took during the previous season, three were wins and that too stacked together entitling her to the first career hat trick.
She kick started the season with the same race last year, the Princess Elizabeth Stakes on 3rd June at Epsom over a mile and half a furlong. The race was won by the 11/8 favourite, Antara, who was riding with Frankie Dettori and led by ¾ of a length.
Finishing the closest was First City while taking up the third spot was Clinical.
She suffered defeat in the next two chances and then went all out by striking three races in a row. She began the count up with the Ilse Und Heinz Ramm-Erinnerungsrennen on 25th September at Cologne over a mile. She won as the 2/1 favourite and took command of the final half length.
Settling as the runner up of the race was Julie’s Love while Jardina took refuge in the third spot.
The grey filly then moved on to strike the second leg of the hat trick and succeeded by claiming the EBF Normandie Stud Fleur De Lys Fillies’ Stakes on 27th October at Lingfield over a mile.
It was not an effortless race for the four-year-old as she had to corner the 4/1 favourite of the race, Sooraah, into the runner up’s slot as she was closing in at mere neck’s distance.
Coming at terms with the third position was Mosqueras Romance.
Her third and final strike was in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Cooley Fillies Stakes on 4th November at Dundalk over a mile. She won as the 6/4 favourite and once again had to escape defeat by a highly narrow margin.
Qualifying as the runner up was Night Lily while settling right after was Atlantic Swing.
Clinical does have competition to face today but her chances for making an impact are substantial.
