Clint Dempsey confident Fulham will finish the season in top half of Premier League table
Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey is confident his team can finish in the top half of the Premier League table at the end of the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Fulham beat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 in an English Premier League encounter at the Craven Cottage on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Dempsey scored a brace to take Mark Hughes’ side to the 9th spot on the League table. At one point, the Cottagers were
lying in the bottom half of the table and were in danger of dropping into the relegation zone.

Fulham had a wonderful 2009-10 campaign as they finished in the top-half of the League
table and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League, where they lost to Atletico Madrid.
With only four matches left to play in the season, Dempsey is confident that his team can produce a better performance in the next term.
Talking to the reporters Dempsey said, “I would like to think we could do what we did in the past. That we could be fighting for Europe and push on from there. We got to see the way things go but I don't think [last season] was a fluke.”
“I would like to think that [we are safe] but there are still four games left and you don't want to be waiting until the last game and stressing. I think we are trying to look up; we are trying to make sure we finish in the top half because we feel that
we have the quality in our team that we should be a team in the top half,” added the versatile midfielder.
Despite his team’s dismal performances in the current campaign, Dempsey has still been a top contributor for his team and has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season. The 28-year-old has urged his teammates to continue their great form of late and
finish the season strongly.
