Clint Peterson shows his skateboarding skills in latest Stride 2.0 commercial
The latest Stride 2.0 commercial is def going to be a real treat for the skateboarding fans. Not only does the entire commercial feature Stereo Sound Agency pro Clint Peterson showing his skateboarding prowess in the most unconventional manner, there is
also a cameo from the legendary skateboarding and snowboarding Shaun White.
In order to market the new line of Stride, a chewing gum created by Cadbury Adams, the brand designed an action-packed commercial using one of the most popular action sport among the young generation, skateboarding.
The commercial starts off with a clean-cut and suited Peterson standing in a mall, looking really slick and holding a huge Stride 2.0 cardboard ad in a mall. He inquires from a mall patron if he wants to upgrade to Stride 2.0, which the patron refuses,
saying that his Stride still has flavour.
Apparently not liking the response, Peterson throws the cardboard away and, with a mean expression on his face, starts chasing the guy on, surprise surprise, a skateboard.
The chase takes place all over the mall, with the man frantically running to get away from his pursuer. Peterson is seen throwing manoeuvres through the bouncing balls, rolling chairs and pulling off other skateboarding stunts during his pursuit of the “offender.”
Even a shocked mall cop cannot help appreciating the excellent skating that the suited clean-cut rider exhibits during the pursuit.
After the long chase, Peterson eventually manages to tackle the guy and following a message from the brand that reads, ”Upgrade to Stride 2.0, Or we’ll do it for you”, replaces his old Stride gum pack with the new Stride 2.0 one.
However, the ad is not quite finished yet, with yet another surprise in store for the fans of skateboarding.
Looking to get away from the scene after assaulting the guy, Peterson jumps into a van with none other than our beloved red-haired White behind the steering wheel.
The ad turned out to be real classy, with both Peterson and skateboarding looking as cool as ever. Not much can be said about White as he just made a small appearance and that too behind a wheel, when his fans would have preferred to see him riding a smaller
set of four-wheels instead.
Talking about his stunts in the latest commercial, Peterson said, “Honestly I was going against my gut when I told them I could do all the stunts. I had never skated anything like what they had in mind. The bouncy balls stressed me out, because I knew that
I was going to slam on the marble ground a few times.”
Talking about his experience of working with White, he said, “I made fun of him for getting fanned off with a Hello Kitty fan. After that, we were buds.”
While working in Big ad productions is not Peterson’s modus operandi, he went for the project anyway after a push from his friends. He was further persuaded to accept the ad offer by Jason Hernandez, who is the skateboarding videographer, and Hari Leigh,
the casting staff member.
