  1. they'll be a good defensive team, not gonna make the playoffs though.

  2. Doesn't matter...Portland is going to own them...

Who is going to guard Oden? The caveman Kaman? LOL...

  3. They already have Keleena Azubuike and they have Marcus Camby who was the 2007 NBA Defensive Player Of The Year so their defense will be better next season also Baron Davis and Chris Kaman are good defensive players also.

  4. Tyler J, Im sure Kwame Brown can gaurd Greg Oden.  Stop over hyping Greg Oden..

  5. What up Eric 704,

It seems that year in and year out the Clippers look good on paper- but somehow almost always end up being the "Clippers" if you know what i mean.

The truth is they have issues on both sides of the ball.  They lost Brand and Magette and gained Camby, Davis and Gordon (offensively i don't know if that balances out).

The Clippers have said their starting backcourt is Baron and Mobley (defensively i think that neither is a good defender) both are kind of not on the best of legs (and i think that this will help their transition defense especially) the backup guards are Knight and Gordon (i think they have some defensive issues in the backcourt).

Thornton had an impressive rookie year on the offensive end- but i wasn't impressed at all with him defensively.

Kaman is a decent defender and off course Camby helps. But remember it's more the defensive scheme than just one player- i mean Denver had Camby last year and was one of- if not the worst defensive team in the league.  i also think tha Camby is being a bit "over-rated".  Yes, Azubukie will help them gain some athleticism- but i am not sure that the Clippers have enough to make the playoffs in the West- and won't be convinced until they secure a spot. They look decent on paper- but are one injury away from a dive- and keep in mind how tough the West is.

  6. Oooooooo...

    PG Baron Davis

    SG Corey Maggete

    SF Al Thorthon

    PF Chris Kamen

    C Marcus Camby

  7. well they dont got azubuike yet. obviously most of the people answering have no idea about the clippers, warriors, or basketball in general. i mean antwuan said baron has good defense? uhh ok, if you watched any warrior games, you know he doesnt have good defense. lil azn kid apparently has been out of the US or he would know that maggette isnt a clipper anymore.

the clippers D could potentially be good but the problem is they invested all their money in 2 30 year old injury prone players. at any point both camby and baron can go down as history has shown. then the clippers are left with kaman who is also a little injury prone, thornton who is still very young and underdeveloped and gordon who is just a rookie.

so if they can stay healthy, then yes they could be a good defensive team but history shows otherwise.

  8. Definitely. They're going to be an all-around great team. With Kaman and Camby's defense, and Davis's scoring ability, they will be a team to look out for in the Western conference.

  9. No viewers are going to care bout good defense of a crappy team if they will always have lame offense... NBA s too much about entertainment, so ppl arent gonna give a c**p,.. maybe some coaches watchin would enjoy it but anyways defense wont matter for them and other teams will not care

  10. it does LOOK good on paper with davis, mobley, thornton, camby and kaman.  however that team just isn't good enough in the tough western conference.  i mean you still have:

lakers, hornets, suns, spurs, mavs, houston, utah, golden state, not to mention the blazers and nuggets.  that's 11 teams vying for 8 playoff spots (well more realistically it's the mavs, golden state, houston, blazers, nuggets and clippers vying for 3 spots)

the overall defence of the team is still lacking, and you really do need to have good on-the-ball defending guards at least as your backups to baron and mobley, both of which are on the decline of their careers (well davis is at his peak, with only 1 or 2 more great seasons, and mobley is well past his)

  11. sometimes baron gets left in the smoke on defense by his opponent , baron is good at creating turnovers by slapping the ball out of peoples hands thats about it defensively hes alright
