Question:

Clipping husband toenails?

My husband allways makes me clip his toenails, it's really gross and he should be able to do things for himself. I don't mind if he leaves the shavings on the floor (I'll sweep them up) but once his nails grow to an uncomfortable length he puts his feet on me and hands me clippers every thirty minutes until I do it. If I don't he'll go get a 45 dollar mani/pedicure, and we don't have that money right now. I clip my own toenails, why can't he?

  1. really? my GF does my nails for me. I figure that if she spends so much time and has that huge box of nail stuff...she must be better at it than it am! Its not like i just give her my nasty toes.  I wash them first!   Thats not saying I wont do them if shes not around and i want them done but come on... is it that bad to groom your partner that you do much nastier stuff with.  I groom her.... put lotion on her back, brush her hair, bath her from time to time! isnt just nice to have someone that cares.  d**n, with your attitude is it any wonder that relationships/marriage doesnt work anymore!

  2. Hmmm...I worked in a day spa / hair salon for 6 years.  Sure we often did manicures on business men who needed their hands to look "presentable" or just plain appreciated nice looking nails.  In the million pedicures that I performed, NONE were on men in fact I don't think in 6 years we had a man ask for a pedi.  My husband lets his nails grow way too long and it drives me nuts, since it's one of the many personal hygeine areas that I am over obsessive with, I wish he would let me cut them but he won't.  Even when I cut my childrens toe nails I make sure to wash my hands, their feet, and then sanitize my hands, their feet and the tools that I am using before and after I do it.  Yeah, I'm definately over obsessive about germs.  If this is something that totally grosses you out then you shouldn't do it!  If you guys just cannot afford for him to have someone else do it then tell him to grow up and take care of himself!

  3. Better do it for him than he going for pedicure and maybe hooking up with one of the girls there! I don't mind doing that for my husband.

  4. That's because you do it so much better than he can. Next time ask him what colour nail polish he wants on them. Then pull out a bottle of nail polish but make sure it a colour he doesn't like, that should really bug him. Either that or say to him before you even start that will be $5.00 please, cash in advance. And remind him that nowhere in the Wedding Vows does it say anything about having to cut his toe nails. Maybe he will get the hint and start doing them himself.

  5. ~~You need to sit him down and tell him exactly how you feel about this. He can also find a much more reasonable place to have his clipped than what he's doing anyway. You are being put in a very no win situation, and he's controlling you. You have to decide the consequences for what he chooses to do. If you can't afford his extravagance, then you need to keep the money away from him. I just know he is abusing you in a way, and you don't have to put up with it!~~

  6. Ummm.... May I ask you a personal question?  When your husband stands at attention can he see his feet?  If he can't then maybe he can't reach is  feet when he's sitting down.

In all seriousness, perhaps your husband has a feet phobia or a toe nail phobia.  Some people have these phobias.  Check into it.  It may be that he just can't psychologically stand his own feet.

  7. that is so so wrong! tell him no.  find something that is gross to him and see if he would enjoy doing it, when he says EEWW no!!! then say well thats how i feel about clipping your toe nails.

  8. He's lazy. If you stop doing it and he goes to get it done, make sure he pays for it himself.

  9. wow sounds like you need to grow a pair. he can't clip them himself because you always do it. simple. they got cut before he married you didn't they.

Husband: I need you to clip my toenails.

Wife: You have two hands, last time I checked.

    BTW that's gross. I'm sorry.
