how long do they last when you use them? are they loud?

i would rather buy batterys then spend ages winding up to get enough power to listen for 5 minutes. hope you got a strong arm!! lol and a lot of time!!

They're designed for use in countries where there is no mains electricity and batteries are hard to come by.  A bit pointless to use them here, where we have both!

depends on the make and the quality,like everything it is only as good as the cash you spend on it.

i have a tyco kids type on it last about a hour when fully wound up, it is pretty loud and this is just a kids toy one

If you get one make  sure  it comes with a mains charger as well. We've got a wind up radio you quickly  get fed up of winding the bloody thing up!

60 seconds of winding should give you about 1 hour of listening. You can now get DAB wind up radios but they use a lot more power,  60 seconds winding gives less than 5 minutes use!

The battery life on  ours is good, lasts about a week before needing charging, it's loud enough for normal use.
