Question:

Clocking in and out at work?

I recently got hired for a job where you clock in and out. When I first started the job a week ago they said I couldn't clock in yet because my user name wasn't ready. A week later I talked to a manager and it still wasn't ready, so I asked him if I would still get paid for my hours, and he said that they were clocking me in and out... My question is, has anyone else ever been in a similar situation to this... If so what happened?

  1. Make sure you work your scheduled hours. Keep track of those times in a notebook or calendar and always compare those to the hours on your paycheck receipt.

I worked at a place that clocked everyone out at closing time on Saturday nights.  I made sure that I was ready to leave at that time.  If you let them, they will take advantage of you.  You can be nice about it, but let them know from the start where you stand.  Tell your supervisor that you want what is equitable for both parties.

  2. Is this your first job? Of course you will get paid.. some co.'s are just slower with getting you into the system! Just make sure your there on time.. and be seen so there is no debate on tardiness.. you will be fine.. good luck with the job.. hold onto it , we may have harder roads ahead !!
