  1. A strong alkali drain opener will loosen hair clogs. the plumber would be your best bet unless you are the hands on type. The snake is a good tool but bathtubs are difficult to get around the bends. You can get pressurised clog busters but like someone above said you need to plug the overflow.

  2. Try the hardware store for a device called a "Zip It". It's a long plastic strip with pointy teeth on either side. You push it down the drain and when you pull it out the clog comes with it. It's about $5. The instructions say to throw it away when done, but if you can stand it, just clean it off and keep it for next time.

  3. rent a pipe snake, it's most likely a hair ball in the pipes. After you get it cleared buy a mesh screen bath drain thing to keep further hair buildup in your pipes

  4. id call a plumber

  5. If you have a built in stopper for the drain (little metal lever above the drain), it could be this.  I was having a similar problem and thought the drain was clogged.  Turned out the stopper wouldn't hold itself open.

  6. If you seal up overflow, you can plunge it out, perhaps.

Pipe snake would be next attempt.

Might have tree roots grown through your drain pipe - rotor rooter time.
