Clogher Rose to make the most out of the training sessions in the Sittingbourne Puppies at Sittingbourne on 8th April
The Sittingbourne Puppies is to be held at Sittingbourne over 480 metres flat on Sunday, 8th April. Taking part in the event are Clogher Rose, Droopys Stig, Quivers Kalifa, Makeit Sunshine, Hollyoak Dart and Westmead Jules. The prize money for
the race is set at £200.
From among the lineup, Quivers Kalifa and Clogher Rose are the two candidates who are racing right out of training session today.
Clogher Rose, College Causeway’s two-year-old black daughter out of b***h Deerpark Angel, is a very lightly raced hound with the current season being her debut season. Out of the two starts, she has scored a second position and bagged the next one.
The two-year-old broke into the season on 6th March in a 480 metres race at Sittingbourne. The track distance was clocked in 30.08 seconds by the winner Galtymoore Tom who was being very closely followed by Clogher Rose. She lost the race by a
mere neck’s difference.
Not waiting for too long to post a victory on her record, Clogher Rose won the very next start right away . On 13th March she won a 480 metres race at Sittingbourne by timing the track distance in 30.07 seconds. The runner up of the race, Sonara,
was adrift by four and a half furlong.
To make sure that the consistency in the performance stayed intact, her trainer, D. Curtin, drilled her through 420 metres at Peterborough first on 26th March and then on 2nd April. She completed the first trip in 26.07 seconds and
the second one took her 25.66 seconds.
Being lightly raced with a decent profile and two training sessions in a row before the race, clearly renders Clogher Rose to be the favourite along with quite high chances of winning.
The other note worthy entry is Quivers Kalifa, Westmead Hawk’s two-year-old blue son out of b***h Rabbits Penny, as he won on 22nd March after getting trained over 480 metres at Sittingbourne by managing the distance in 29.55 seconds. The runner
up of the race was Local Event.
On 2nd April, Quivers Kalifa drilled over 420 metres at Peterborough and was done practicing in 25.98 seconds. If the training will give Quivers Kalifa tonight’s victory or not is still to be seen however he does not really disturb the chances
of Clogher Rose to make it beyond the wire before the rest today.
