How long does clomid extend your luteal phase by?

Does this happen to everyone that takes clomid?

  1. I'm not for sure what is luteal phase??? I found this on the internet about it:

    Typically the luteal; phase after clomiphene will last up to 17 days. Much beyond this and one has to wonder about the possibility of pregnancy. This, however, assumes that one has not been on progesterone supplementation. If you were on progesterone suppositories, for example, this could postpone your cycle. The other possibility, of course, is that you did not ovulate in response to the clomiphene. I would check on your progesterone and call the MD's office and see how they would like you to follow up.

    Also, I'll have to say that since this month. I have yet to get a period and have been really brown/reddish spotting with dicharge. But no full blown period. this has been going on for 3weeks. 3 neg pregnancy test and I'm going to the Specialist this month.
