Question:

Clomid question...Anyone experienced delay on period?

This is my first cycle using Clomid 50mg. My period works like a clock...26 days on the dot! Right now, my period is 3 days late. This month, I had mild cramps for 4 days in a row at the time I was expecting my period to come. The cramps are gone and no period so far... I don't think I am pregnant, cause my husband had his spermogram done and the doctor told us it would be pretty impossible for us to conceive naturally since his sperm motility is too low, so he suggested IUI for us. I am worried about this delay, so please if anyone else experienced the same situation, could u plz share? Thanks.

  1. I also took 50 mg of Clomid this cycle, it did not work for me and my period is starting.  My period is also 5 days late.  It did not work for me because I did not ovulate.  Did you have your cd 21 progesterone blood test to confirm ovulation?  And have you taken a pregnancy test to confirm one way or the other?  Good luck, and if you are not I hope that an IUI helps you out!

  2. I have heard alot that Clomid delays your ovulation which I'm sure in return, will delay your period.  I think its like 4 days it delays it by.  I take Clomid as well but am very irregular so I don't know if delays or not since I don't have a regular cycle.  I would just give it a few more days and see if it comes.  And if not, then definitely take a test just to be sure.  Sometimes the impossible happens!!! Good luck!

  3. Don't worry about the delay. I just spoke with my RE's nurse because I'm starting Clomid, and she says that on average, taking Clomid 50mg on the CD5-9 schedule will delay ovulation (and therefore also your period) by about 4 days. That's the average, so you're on target.
