Me and my husband have been trying for almost 2 years to have a baby. I have been to the dr. alot and they have checked my tubes and everthing else and they say I can have kids. I am wanting to try clomid! Is it a lot of money? and how long does it take to get pregnant? and how high are my chances to have more than one baby at a time?

  1. my husband and i were going through the same thing and after eight months with no success we went to the doctor for clomid. The first thing that the doctor did was put me on Provera.. its a pill to regulate your period after two months on provera alone they put me on the low dose 50mg of clomid. We were on clomid for three months before we successfuly concieved. Im not sure about the price because my insurance covered the cost of the pill, but im pretty confident if you have been trying for two years paying  out some money wouldnt really upset you if it meant getting pregnant. I have heard alot of success stories with clomid it all depends on the person. The chances for twins is increased with Clomid but i am not under the impression it raises your chances excessivly. Maybe like 10-20 percent... (dont quote me on that one)  Goodluck!!! My best advice would be to set up an appointment with your gyno and discuss your options!

  2. The cost depends on if your insurance will cover it or not, there is a generic so it isn't that expensive if you have to pay out of pocket, I think I was paying 75.00 monthly when we had to pay ourselves for it, 20.00 when the new insurance covered it.

Everyone is different, I used it on and off for 7 years before I became pregnant for the first time, You can't take it constantly because it can enlarge your ovaries.

There is a slight chance of multiples, usually twins, but its not that high, of course the higher the dosage, the higher your chance for twins becomes.  Good luck, I hope this helps you.

  3. i am on clomid for the frist month the cost is just 20 bucks
