  1. Go to a psychiatrist who can prescribe it for you.  They are trained to know how to safely take people off of meds like clonazepam.

  2. Clonazepam is a medication that your body gets used to having so it's best to talk with your physician about a plan for stopping it. Do you want to stop taking it because you're worried about being addicted to it or for another reason? If it helps you feel better, you may need something else to treat your depression so your symptoms don't come back.

  3. YES YOUR G.P

  4. If you've been taking 1 mg per day for seven years, you're not really an addict, you're just dependent. If you talk to your psychiatrist or GP they can get started on weaning you down. Generally what they will do is switch you to Valium, as it's less potent mg for mg, and has a long half life. With Valium, they can slowly reduce the dose you take, and the long half life stops you from getting most of the nasty withdrawal symptoms.
