Cloncunny Magic moved quite well in the Betfred Goals Sprint Trophy for trainer E Lagan
Sponsored by the Betfreds, the Grade OR race entailing the purse of £150 spot lighted Cloncunny Magic as the purse winner for being the first one to reach the escape turn in 18.27 seconds. The Betfred Goals Sprint Trophy scheduled at Nottingham on the 14th
of November 2011, gave Cloncunny Magic an opportunity to show off his extraordinary racing talent.
With the 6 – 4 F odds, the black dog cracked out with an astonishing speed which eventually became a threat for rest of his contenders.
Wearing black and white jacket the two-year-old dog took over the lead, while the lot of hounds following him included the trap 1 racer Cloncunny Max and Burnpark Brave who commenced through trap 6.
Both hounds experienced clear run from the beginning of their quest, as they tried every chance to take charge of the show by over taking Cloncunny Magic.
E Lagan’s trap 4 racer reached in to the final turn by keeping the trap 1 and trap 6 racer at a bearable margin.
Setting up an impressive reputation in the show, E Lagan’s warrior at last managed to break through the wire in 18.27 seconds and confirmed first place as his spot.
Trainer M Alden’s Cloncunny Max and Burnpark Brave for E Samuels struggled for the next respectable finish, as they rallied all the way to the finish line only to find the 9 – 2 E Samuels’s black dog homing from a wide position to give M Alden’s hound a
chance to finish in second place.
The trap 1 racer with 2 – 1 odds took 18.41 seconds to wrap up his chase, while the trap 6 racer following him by 1 ¾ length crossed over in 18.55 seconds.
The trap 2 racer who experienced obstruction as he reached in the initial stretch, finished off fourth by a head distance.
Trainer K Peake’s Frankbrunosbro after getting hindered in the early stage took 18.56 seconds to call a halt to his chase.
P Young’s West Way Ranger and R Pleasants Dual Control after getting hampered in the first bend, were spotted quite far throughout the chase due to their lethargic start.
The trap 3 racer West Way Ranger with 9 – 1 odds came fifth for P Young, in 18.72 seconds while the trap 5 racer Dual Control acquired sixth place in 18.96 seconds for trainer R Pleasants.
The show stealer Cloncunny Magic, became the apple of E Lagan’s eye by presenting a tremendous pace and breaking through the wire victoriously in the Betfred Goals Galore Sprint Trophy.
