Clondaw Warrior hot favourite for Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Hurdle
Clondaw Warrior is expected to be dominant in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Hurdle at Ballinrobe in Ireland on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. The winner of the race will be awarded a cash prize of €8,970.
The going will be good to firm in the 2 mile 4 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 18:05 GMT. Only six runners have been attracted towards it and their names are as follows: Clondaw Warrior, Flycorn, Mickelson, Doctor Deejay, Wolf Hall and Empire
Theatre.
Looking at the recent form of Clondaw Warrior, it seems that no one will be able to match his skills in the race today. He has been in excellent rhythm since making debut in the sport, thus the punters will be placing a lot of bets on him.
The five-year-old gelding has participated in five races overall and managed to win four of them. He only failed to take the top spot once, but still did not perform badly, as he secured the runner up position.
Furthermore, the John Joseph Hanlon’s trainee has participated in just one race over hurdles and he managed to outperform his rivals in it. He was rated as the favourite to win back then and lived up to the expectations of everyone.
Clondaw Warrior’s stamina is his strength and it will be difficult for his opponents to prevent him from winning the race. He will be partnered by young jockey, B. Hayes, who has managed to win a couple of races over hurdles. His strike rate is quite impressive,
which shows that he has the potential of becoming one of the best in the business.
On the other hand, Flycorn has got more experience and is a very good performer, which will help him attract a few bets in his favour today. He has participated in nine races over hurdles, winning just once.
However, the six-year-old gelding has also secured a couple of runner up positions, which shows that he has the ability to fight at the front. He is carrying a decent momentum at the moment, as he finished second in his most recent outing.
Flycorn, trained by T. Hogan, will be partnered by Paul Townend, who is relatively new to the sport and has just won once over hurdles.
