Clone effect in Final Cut Express 4?

Question

I know how to do everything with the clone effect except when i watch it when i'm done it seems like the backgrounds are different shades and it's too obvious that i used a cloning effect. any suggestions?

you should be able to adjust the contrast brightness setings independently for each video
