Question:

Clorox original + Pine Sol?

I want to really disinfect my floor when I mop, so I was wondering if it would be more effective if I combined clorox original and pine sol together?

would both products cancel each other's substances? I mean, pine sol is strong as h**l because the smell stays on my floor for like a day or so, but clorox is also strong as h**l because it's never good without mixing water with it.

So I was wondering, clorox + pine sol = the ultimate disinfectant cleanser or the worse? Since schools and most public areas use pine sol to clean their floors because it's that strong, but clorox original also contains bleach, and that's what could kill the HIV viruses, so they're both like strong in the same way.

  1. I use that combination but dont overdo it! It does the job and it smell so clean after you are done!

  2. isn't bleach strong enough??? Pine sol will leave a film on your floors over time. just use hot water and a quarter cup of bleach.

  3. You don't want to mix pine-sol and clorox: That will create dangerous fumes. Use one or the other.

  4. I wouldn't do it. You're asking for problems. No matter what you use to clean the floor you need to mix it with some water. No wonder the smell stays for days.

I worked at a daycare and we used 1 part bleach 2 parts water to clean. If the mixture is strong enough to take the color out of clothes, it's too strong.
