Question:

Close-Quarter-Combat training?

I am considering martial arts as a hobby/skill/exercise, but I don't want to learn a skill-set that is more artistic than combat-effective.

I want to learn some melee drills that are not only combat-effective, but street-smart and easily adaptive to the environment and user. I would also prefer a discipline that instructs in the use of common CQC weaponry, both conventional and improvised.

Does anyone know of a style that teaches all of the above, or a complimentary combination that would offer the skills I want to learn?

Please help me, as I have little experience in the matter.
