Close contest anticipated in Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton
This weekend brings a lot of entertainment for the horse racing fans. The spectators at Kempton will see many high status horses unleashing their talent in the Grade 2 williamhill.com Adonis Juvenile Hurdle on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
With 13 runners in the line-up, the 2-mile event is due to commence at 14:00 (GMT).
The list of participants includes many big names such as BABY MIX, GRUMETI, LYVIUS and SADLER´S RISK.
This race is very important for all contestants, as they will look to complete their preparations for next month’s Cheltenham festival.
By looking at the recent stats, let’s find out who is hot and who is not.
After a brilliant run in December, Baby Mix failed to carry forward the good work. The four-year-old gelding completed the order of finish in his last race at Cheltenham last month. Tom George’s novice has enormous talent but needs to be
a bit more consistent.
On the other hand, Alan King’s Grumeti is stepping into this battle after a close victory. Hence, the four-year-old’s confidence will be sky high. Baby Mix and Grumeti took part in the same event that was eventually won by the latter of
the two.
Nicky Henderson’s Lyvius will look for his hat-trick. After registering a classy win in October last year, the four-year-old started off this year on a winning note. On February 15, Lyvius outclassed Rhymers Ha' to seal a comprehensive victory
in the Berrymoss Novices' Hurdle at Kelso.
Likewise, Paul Nicholls’ Dodging Bullets will look to clinch his third consecutive triumph. The four-year-old is making his first outing after a break of more than six months but that does not take anything away from him. He will be full
of power and high spirits, aiming to seal a decent place on the final result card.
Nicky Henderson’s Une Artiste is another strong contender. The four-year-old filly has been doing a wonderful job since her debut. After a couple of dismal shows at the start of her journey, she picked up a winning momentum which is still
intact.
Simon Munir’s own filly has four back to back victories under her belt and will definitely be the one to watch out for.
Sadler’s Risk is also coming into this clash with a win under his belt. Philip Hobbs’ trainee is making this outing after a gap of one month and thus, he will be fresh and full of energy.
Final Prediction
With such a talented and in-form line-up, it is very difficult to pick one clear favourite. However, the betting forecast shows that it is going to be a tug of war between
Une Artiste, Lyvius and Grumeti.
Baby Mix and Sadler’s Rick will look to upset the proceedings.
