close out pitcher opinion?

i am 14 and i want to be a close out pitcher. i can get on a streak but can't keep it long. but long enough for a good 3 innings. i have a 2 seam and four seam and a little curve. but i am working on that. i have a 45 mph fastball but i am working on arm strength.

my question is this does this qualify for a close out pitcher. also what is the average pay for a close out.

ALSO what can i do to improve

(i am also going for a splitter soon) what other pitche would be good for me to learn as i grew and mature?

thank you so much!

  1. i would tell u yes. i am a closer, i rather close than start. its easier. it varies i mean it would just depend on how good u are. ur 14, dont worry so much about a curve but like work on a changeup its a very good pitch, it gets lost because of the curve ball. A split finger is a good pitch. i just recently started throwing it its good. But if u like the curve ball try the slider its almost the same. So id say slider and change up

  2. first of all, it's a closer. Second, don't listen to people telling you that you can't throw hard enough. It should come if you work your @$$ off. Good, veteran major league closers can make anywhere from 7-8 million to 12 and beyond. 45 isn't very fast though, that has to be your top priority, for certain. you need to get that up into the 60's at least. It's possible, you just need to push yourself beyond what you even think you could get close to

  3. wow your soooooooo funnyyyy, if your throwing 45 mph and 14, u shouldnt be pitching.

  4. 45 mph for a fastball at your age is horrible

  5. sorry tyler, but to be a closeout, you would be having to pitch 65-75 at 14 years old.
