  1. there are two ways i use one is get a tape measure and measure from the floor to the height you want the top shelf to be the do the same to the other end or two after you make your first make use a four foot level to mark a straight line to the other side that will make it the same height and all you got to do is set your shelves and the lines you make with a pencil  also i like to split the space in half with a board down the middle so the you can make to sets of selves on the same wall different sizes like a few small ones for your shoes or one that will only fit the length of your s***s when the y are on a hanger stuff like that one thing be sure to anchor most impossible to the studs in the wall as this will keep your shelves up when weight is put on then you don't want them to fall on you or anybody else . so take your time in your design and enjoy bye

  2. I'm not sure if I understand the question exactly, but the easiest way is to build the wall framing on the floor and raise it into place making sure it is square (measure diagonally from corner to opposite corner from the top and bottom) and plumb.  Go ahead and leave the bottom plate across the bottom of the door opening until you get the framing up and set in place then cut it away with a saw.  Building it on the floor is much easier and keeps everything lined up.

  3. Plum bob from the cieling.Unless the floor is realy badly tilted then just measure( something square in a crooked house looks weird)

  4. Just put your studs up and use a level to make it work
