  1. I used disposables for most of my babys first year. I just got some cloth ones. I use the cloth ones at home, and disposable when we leave the house. I own 7 diapers. Doing my calculations, I am saving a lot of money. That is the main reason I am partially using cloth. The second reason is to let my babys butt have a change of pace. "air" a little.

A pack of diapers is about 17cents each diaper for the ones I buy. so 17cents, times per day and times per month.....I spend about $400-500 a year on diapers at that rate. So by simply using cloth a few times a week (as much as I do the laundry), I figure Im saving at least $200 a year.

I really dont care about "doing my part". What I care about is the money.

  2. I figure it's not really any better for the environment.. sure, there won't be a thousand more diapers in the landfill.. but doing laundry every day isn't exactly any better than throwing them out..

I think the issue is really that they aren't making diapers that break down in the land fill within a reasonable amount of time, hopefully someone out there is inventing some now :)

  3. if someone wants to complain about it, they can come change my sons diapers.

    disposable all the way.

    ________

Tara never had kids, yet knows cloth diapering is easy?  haha.

brilliant.  and why in the h**l would that prevent her from having kids?  they still exist... but people don't use them because it's a waste of time, messy, and too much of a hassle.

i own cloth diapers - for burp pads.

  4. from experience, you dont wanna mess with them, unless there over your shoulder for burping. they work best for that.its just to big of a pain, when your having all YOUR OWN pains from giving birth and stuff. and in the middle of the night when you hardly got your eyes open, do ya really wanna have to safety pin something on your baby! eek! lol. reg. diapers are fine. but if you choose to go the other way you will see for yourself itsnot worth the time. you have no time onced you got kids. is it really worth it when you are standing there washing out his p**p from the diaper when you cuold just toss it in the garbabge and put on a fresh one without scrubin poo?? yuk. do what u wish, but i prefer disposable!

  5. there is no 'hassle' to cloth diapering actually

wet ones - just drop in the pail - poopy ones - shake off in toilet then diaper pail - then wash and dry -

the stuff in diapers to make them so highly absorbent.....was banned in tampons due to toxic shock.......wanna put that on your baby's butt, because of a 'hassle'....??

  6. Yes, cloth diapers are worth it. I was a cloth diaper baby.

Disposable diapers are the worst invention known to man.  They don't disintegrate and will stay around in landfills for decades.  Cloth diapers and diaper services are gone.

    Pads and tampons do disintegrate.

People want the easy way out.  Using cloth diapers is EASY.

The replacement of cloth diapers with disposables is one reason I never had kids.
