Iam very much impressed with this blog because of regular posting. Iam a software engineer I resigned my job going to start a small business with products with organic, natural and handmade products. Regarding napkin I am going to manufacture menstrual cloth napkin dyed with Turmeric. Turmeric is powerful antiallergenic and antifungal. I like to know about your comments and ideas.

  1. disgusting

  2. there is already a company on the market who makes these. www.gladrags.com.

It's a great idea, but the turmeric will not keep the antifungal properties after the first wash in hot water.

  3. would the dye hold and how long would the properties last with repeated washing?

also, why would we need antifungal anyway?

i use home made cloths, i have never had a fungal infection!!!

  4. When I was growing up my mother used old sheets to make into napkins for us to use and wash and reuse again. And, while your at it how about bringing back washable diapers. They used to sell them but I have tried buying them and can't find them anywhere. They are great to have around if your broke and don't have money for the throw away kind. I think we should go back to when we had to do a little work to make life easier instead of running (or should I say driving) to the store to buy something.

  5. I use cloth pads from a company called lunapads.com. They are awesome! Great for those who want to help the environment, or have allergies! Once you try them you will not want to go back to disposables!  The more companies who make them, the better!

  6. This sounds like a great idea to me to, but I would suggest putting them in packages of say 10 or 12.  Two per day.  I know a lot of woman would wash them out daily, but sometimes we get busy.  Perhaps market a box or other container that they could be stored in until they could be washed.  Good luck with this.

  7. Not all women can wear tampons. I ,for one, can not. I have to wear pads. I would totally consider using a cloth menstrual napkin.

There are so many disposable pads and diapers in the landfills...They rank #1 item(s) in the landfill. I would definitely buy the cloth ones to help keep disposables out of the landfills.

Good for you & I hope to see them on the shelves soon!!! Thanks a bunch & God bless!

  8. I think it's a great idea. I don't use pads, I use tampons with biodegradable wrappers and applicators. I would consider using it if I used pads regularly, though.

  9. this sounds smart. but my question is.....would we have to wash it? would it work as well as pads?

  10. would these come in packs?i think it sounds like a good idea.

  11. I dont know anything about turmeric personally but the cloth menstrual napkin is a good idea.  whats sad is that woman used this for decades before they wanted to become more "technologically advanced" to keep up with changing lifestyles and old information was lost.  I was reading some old journals written by my great-grandmother and one of her chores was to wash the "rags" which was simply old cloth.

  12. I would never have used a cloth menstrual napkin. The throw away kind is so much easier. I thought most women wore

    tampons anyway.
