Hello, My dryer just stopped 5 min into it's cycle. I tried to restart it and it was just completely dead. I then tried to reset the timer k**b and came to realize it was completely stripped. When I pulled it off I saw the inside of the k**b was cracked real bad. I tried to fix it and have had no luck. I wanted to see if it was the k**b that had caused the problem so I took some vice grips and closed it on where the k**b would have went and gave it a turn. It fired right up. My question is can I keep the vice grips on there and just run it like that. My thinking is as long as I mark the grips and set it to where the k**b position was It should just turn as if it was the actual k**b itself on there. Is there any truth to my thinking or is it alot more involved than that. I'm going away in a day and want to finish all the laundry my family and I need for vacation and then I can deal with getting the part when I come back. If that's even what it is. I'm not sure. Any help much appr.
