Clothes washer will not add water,why?

Accidently opened washer during spin cycle .Now it won,t fill with water,Why?

Ah, yes this same thing happened to me. I'm guessing it's a top load washer?  Just kind of hit the corners because the sensor isn't touching the lid.  If this works temporarily maybe put your laundry detergent bottle on the corner of the lid. That's what I did, and it worked, it's a pain, but it works.

If it is a newer one you may need to unplug it to 'reset' it.  Otherwise on an older one you may need to back it up on the dial before the spin cycle.

I had the same thing happen. Look on the lid to see if there is a little metal tab that goes in a small hole on the washer. If the tab is missing, then there is no contact to keep he washer running. I just put a small screwdriver in the hole on the washer and it worked fine.

I hope I described this so you know what I'm talking about. I have no idea what the parts are called. Being a single Mom I had to figure it out on my own.
