Question:

Clothing. Smaller.?

I need to shrink my clothing. I have about 5 shirts that are larger or extra large and I need to shrink them to a medium. I've seen the other questions and everyone says rinse in heat dry in heat. My washing machine automatically switches to cold water when washing, and even when I've monitored to make sure that only hot water is applied, the shirts don't shrink. Any other suggestions?

  1. You can't shrink a shirt a size or more with most fabrics and fabrications.  Even if you did, the stitching wouldn't shrink and you'd wind up with a permanently wrinkled and pulled garment.

Find yourself some clothes that fit you... don't try to rely on shrink to fit, because you're just wasting hot water.

  2. The only way to shrink shirts is to shrink them when they're

new and haven't been worn yet.  If you're talking about how

to shrink shirts that have already been worn then I'm afraid

that you're out of luck.  Sorry.

  3. This may be old fashioned, but take a hot bath while wearing it.
