  1. The vast majority and its not just shops big brands like coca cola still exploit child labour

  2. gap i think ?

  3. Primark is the worst- I did a project on it for ethics

Children as young as 5 getting paind something like 2p an hour.

Although not a high street store, the fake business is terrible

chinese workers making high-end fashion for pennies. This goes on although chinese government often chooses to ignore it. hope this helps =]

  4. i'd say probably.. nearly... all of them.

M&S used to be different before they shut all the factories in the UK... so, don't know about them any more.

considering how cheap a lot of the clothes are when the sales are on.. it's a wonder anyone makes a profit...

  5. average mark up on clothes (and furniture) is anything from 200 to 300% . on rrp. only the real discount ware houses are not ripping us off.

  6. well i don't live in the uk, but two years ago i did a presentation on child labor/ sweat shops and seriosuly every store was.

    i'm not even kidding.

every store in my city was on this list.

  7. who knows?!?

    i like primark

  8. I'd agree with MR Frewster.

Though most of the high street stores will openly condemn any child labour, the fact remains that they all get there clothing manufactored outside of mainland europe where it's cheap and where there is no way realistic way that they could keep tabs on everything going on.

They, in my opinion, choose to ignore what goes on as long as the business does well and the shareholders are happy.

  9. Fairtrade doesn't :D Primark does but i think there are going to be new laws on cheapo clothes

  10. I wouldn't know which shops are guilty but I know that most shops these days are discriminating against the bigger person, particularly women. Go into Primark, Debenhams, Newlook, Mkone you name it, and you will not find anything over a size 20. Some say bigger sizes only available on line. Why? Could you help spread the word please.
