Question:

Clouds, bar. pressure, relative humidity, precipitation relations?

i have to write a summary for this weather journal I recorded down and i can't seem to find any patterns in the weather... can any of you tell me what relations cloud formation/weather and all that stuff have to do with with relative humidity, bar. pressue cloud type and precipitation? thanks!!

  1. Well, I'd either; just get one off a weather site, if it's for a school thing, which is cheating, or make your observation longer.


  2. If the atmosphereic pressure is low at a place,winds converge there and convection takes place.Convection causes the air to cool at a particular level and because of the cold air, relative humidity increases and saturation occurs resulting in the condensation of water vapour to form clouds.

    So ,low pressure  causes the air to ascend, increase its relative humidity at higher levels leading to cloud formation and precipitation.

    On the other hand,high pressure causes air to sink over a place,making the air warmer and thereby decreasing the relative humidity of the descending air leading to the dissipation of clouds and thereby affecting the rainfall.

    So,high pressure affects the formation of clouds and precipitation.
