Cloudy Spirit chasing a victory in Goodwood Stakes (Handicap)
Cloudy Spirit has got a solid chance of winning the Goodwood Stakes (Handicap) in England on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. A victory will earn her owner, Mrs Norma Harris, a cash prize of £18,675.
A total of 20 runners will be seen in action over the 2 mile 5 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT. Furthermore, the weather has been dry, which means that the going will be good.
The competition at Goodwood will definitely be an exciting one, as there are some extremely good runners scheduled to appear in the race. The punters will have a lot of options and one of them will be Cloudy Spirit, who has performed well in the ongoing

Things will not be easy for the seven-year-old mare, as some of her opponents are in extremely good form. Despite that, she cannot be ruled out completely, as she has got a decent record overall.
The Reg Hollinshead’s trainee has managed to win six races in her career, which is not bad at all, considering she has participated in 29 events. She has also finished as third on the same number of times whereas secured the runner up spot on five occasions,
which proves that she can be extremely competitive.
The 2012 season has proved to be a good one for the seasoned mare, as she has managed to produce some decent results. She finished fifth in her first outing of the year and followed it up with a third place finish.
There were a couple of more mixed performances from Silver Patriarch’s daughter before she won two back-to-back events. This gave her a lot of confidence, but she was unable to complete a hat-trick of victories and disappointed her team last time around.
Cloudy Spirit was priced 16 to 1 in her most recent race and was expected to be competitive. However, she finished in a disappointing 13th place and lacked stamina to battle at the front.
Things could turn out to be different for the skilful runner at Goodwood. She will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Luke Morris.
