Cloudy fluid is coming out of my right breast. ?

I'm 23. I'm NOT pregnant and I've never given birth. If I squeeze my right breast, a cloudy fluid (resembling breast milk) comes out.

I visited my doctor last week and was told that nothing was wrong with me.

Could this be lactation?

  1. sounds like it, does it taste like salty milk and coins?

  2. must me milk

  3. No, not unless you are producing milk without squeezing. As in you would find your bra to be wet. The best thing to do is stop squeezing as it will keep coming as long as you keep squeezing. Check again at your next monthly breast self exam. If it were to look bloody or black, that would be a concern to take immediately to your dr.

  4. My youngest child is 19 years old and I breast feed her for 6 weeks. I still have a cloudy fluid coming out of my breast. I have been to about 7 different doctors and they all said not to worry about it.My last mammogram showed lumps in my breast and when they took the one of my right breast alot of fluid came out the tech had to clean the machine. Nothing comes out of that breast anymore I wish the same thing would have happened to the other one. The left one still leaks alot and I went to a specialist he came very highly recommended he told me it was hormones and to leave it alone but it hurts so much sometimes I barely squeeze and it comes out. If I were you I would try just leaving it alone and maybe ask a doctor if you could have a mammogram to see if they see anything if you really freaked out about it. But I think you are probably hormonal like me if thats a word. Hope this makes you feel better!

  5. yes. some woman lactate even if they are not pregnant, although it is very rare.

  6. wow that is weird, I breastfeeded 2 babies and what you describe sounds like breastmilk. but if your doctor said not to worry then do not worry.

  7. It is hormones that is all stop messing with it and it will dry up

  8. i'd hit that.

  9. yes, you don't have to be pregnant to lactate

  10. I would call your doctor, Im sure its nothing to worry about but you may want to find out. I dont know how it could be lactation of you arent pregnant,

  11. it could be...I watched a tv special once where men could lactate...are you around any children which you have an emotional attachment to?  Sometimes that contributes to it...

  12. It could be. LTH (Prolactin, the hormone responsible for lactation) levels usually increase during pregnancy, because the body must prepare for the child, however, it is not the only time when it does.

If your doctor said there's nothing wrong with you, then he's probably right.

  13. Lactation only occurs when your hormones are altered and getting ready for a new born. I dont think that is lactation.

You should look up for an infection. I've got a friend who had the same and turned that she had a tumor full of this white pale liquid. They proceeded to extract it with an injection and fortunately it was not cancer. Now she is oK. Have a check up with another doctor. Sometimes one opinion is not enough. Good luck.

  14. It's possible but don't worry about it being breast cancer, if it becomes bloody be concerned because it may be breast cancer.

  15. whoa.

    where do you live?

    can I come and watch?

    joking...

this could be lactation, but you'll have to see a doctor.
