925 gal pond that looks like watered down choc. milk. I can only see about 18 inches down. I have two 5" koi and the six minnows, son. I have used algae killer and ended up with a tea colored pond. I drained the whole pond cleaned it filter too and refilled it. We used well water to fill it but you could see the pump on the bottem after it was filled. within 2 days the pump and koi were no longer visable. I put in clarifier, it lightend the choc color but not clear. Tonight (4 wks later) I checked the bottem there is hardly any dirt on the bottem.cleaned the filter out but not the balls. I misted the fine filter to remove the muck, totally cleaned the other two prefilters, reassembled, replaced to the bottem. I have peach fuzz algae growing. All nitro levels are within range, a 5teir waterfall and 8ft stream, 25% plant coverage and it gets 3hours a day part sun,4hours full sun. I have benifical in the falls, stream and pond walls.Million if not more. There is plenty I'm at a loss. HELP!!!

  1. In a pool, we try to kill the bacteria, however in a Koi Pond that is not possible. What we need is beneficial bacteria in order to maintain proper bacteria balance. Here is a site that should be able to help maintain the clarity of your pond with proper care an maintenance: http://www.exoticwaterscapes.com/algae-p...

Hope this helps, good luck,  ;-)
