i have 3 clown loaches in my 60litre tank(i know its small but ill be moving them into a 200litre tank before christmas. and one of them seems a bit skinny but the other two are perfectly healthy, so they get along great but when them 2 swim over to the smaller one to get itn 2 swim with them, it swims away and hides it its cave. the loaches are relatively small (4-6cm) so mabye when it grows abit will it become less timid???

some advice would be great :)

  1. i would get another loach, maybe the smaller loach is not getting enough food because he feels ganged up against.  i would advise to get a bigger tank first, or you could try them with tinfoil barbs apparently they like to school with them.

    good luck!!!

I disagree with 'emperor'  clown loaches like more of their own company so get at least 2 more, they like to school...although the same size is better.

Emperor, sorry but maybe more research is needed :)

  2. Clown loaches don't swim around with each other. They bury themseves in the substate and only become active at night. Re-identify your fish please xxxx

  3. clown loaches  like to shoal with one another, however if one is so much smaller it probably will hide from them, these fish grow to quite a size,so be warned before you get another as they will consume much smaller tank mates, they are mainly active at night and will hide most of the day,and in the strangest of places.yes as they grow they will outgrow most tankmates and be less timid
