Club America versus Manchester City - Preseason friendly: First half review

Manchester City started the match off strongly as in the 3rd minute of the match, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 tried to play in Shaun Wright Phillips in behind the Club America defence. However the former Aston Villa midfielder’s pass
was over hit as it sailed out of play. In the 5th minute, Wright Phillips played in Edin Dzeko inside the Club America penalty area but the home team’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 crowded the Bosnian striker out and forced him into surrendering the possession of the
ball.
In the 12th minute, Dzeko found himself in space inside the Club America penalty area but this time his eventual shot was a particularly weak one as it trickled out of play as it lacked power and accuracy. In the 13th

Shaun Wright Phillips who was dispossessed but the clearance fell fortunately enough to Ryan McGivern whose finish sailed into the Club America goal.
In the 20th minute, Edin Dzeko was sent clean through on goal by Weiss but the Bosnian striker was flagged offside immediately just as he was about to shoot on goal. In the 27th minute, Dzeko played in Wright
Phillips inside the Club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 winger made no mistake with his finish as the score line reached 2-0 in favour of the visiting side. Just before the half time break, Dzeko was booked by the referee for a late tackle on
George Corral. City’s striker was lucky to escape with a yellow card as his late sliding challenge was a dangerous one.
Manchester City dominated the first half but failed to add more to their lead as Club America came back into the match after conceding the second goal of the match. Nonetheless, the first half ended with City in the lead thanks
to first half goals from Edin Dzeko and Wright Phillips.
