Question:

Club Officers Irresponsible?

The HIGH SCHOOL students who are officers of a volunteering club are not doing their jobs. They do not communicate with each other or their members. The programs they put on are disorganized and bland. How can I motivate these kids? Why be in this club if they aren't committed? I tried to hold leadership training for the officers, but only two schools (I'm in charge of 4) told me the wouldn't come. IT'S AN HOUR LATE AND NO ONE IS HERE. How do I reprimand them? What should I do? I am the Youth Coordinator for a volunteer organization in my county. I took over the position from someone who was not doing their job properly. Now, it seems, her irresponsible ways have allowed these "young adults" to laze around and do nothing, while slowly destroying their clubs from the inside out. HELP

  1. I'm not sure how the club rules read but if you have the ability to not give them credit for being in the club it should be taken away - at least threaten to take it away.  It wouldn't look good on a transcript and make sure they know it.
