Club RIU Negril Jamaica -

Question

planning to attend a wedding at Club RIU Negril in January 2009

given some recent cases of violent crime in resort areas (murders) -

does anyone have any experiences there they would share?

what is the resort like? clean - nice - safe?

(we have a young child >5)

good experiences or bad experiences?

suggestions?

we are planning to take an all inclusive pkg & will be staying with a group of other family members attending the wedding

The resort is clean and it has a very good track record. I have been to 2 other Riu resorts in Jamaica and I was not disappointed on either occassion. Very magnificent places... great for weddings.

I live in Jamaica. I think it would be a great choice. If the crime was as bad as everyone thinks in Jamaica half of us would be dead by now.

No worries.  Use common sense and all will be fine.  Your little one will love Jamaica except, maybe, the ride from the airport.  

Have you tried the site tripadvisor.com yet?  You can read reviews from past guests so you'll know what to expect when you get there.

You'll love all-inclusive.  Put your wallet away when you get there and forget it.  I'm sure your family will have a great time.
