Club de golf Heritage is more than just a Golf Club
Among many exceptional golf courses, The Auberge at Club de golf Heritage is a place which is surrounded by breathtaking scenery and magnificent mountains. Last week Heritage was rather a representation of a magnificent haven but this place is not only limited to golf. Heritage is a place where throughout the year, the fields represent their ability of multi-purpose utilization.
According to the Heritage’s general manager Ron Teoli, fall is the best season for the Club since that enhances the clubs beauty. He says it’s always good to be here as it is situated away from the city smoke and electric wires. This season is always relaxing, Teoli said, and there is nothing that can disturb this golf club’s beauty.
The club and its mountains display a mystifying aura as the colours of the trees have started to change in the forest while the golfers can’t resist the urge to take photographs while they are playing.
Heritage resides at the butte of western Laurentians which is ten minutes away from Montebello. This place is around a Petite sector of Outaouais region which is named after the river Ottawa.
The auberge is much like a modern hotel rather than a quaint inn. The auberge consist of rooms that amount to 30 in number which are all bright and sunny. The décor is contemporary in style and has a 2 year old wing. Half of the rooms in there have balconies in them which show the magnificent golf course. While some have balconies, others have kitchenettes, fireplaces and whirlpool tubs.
Heritage also has a small clubhouse which is a bit older and is made like a Canadian log building. It adds its own country charm to the Golf course. The afternoon and dinner present a completely different view. The afternoon is filled with under $10 lunch of salads, burgers and sandwiches but at dinner, the lights are dimmed, the tables are covered with stylish sheets and the menu is changed to steak, lamb, scampi, pasta and chicken.
Of course, most of the people at this place are for the sole purpose of playing golf but if they want to they can spend a day at the Wekarini Spa. The indoor relaxation place is a small fitting with only two treatment rooms. It may not have the sauna or the whirlpool but it does provide with the bet post-golf massage and fix you a day of exfoliation and lightening up.
The Heritage club is more than just a golf club. In winters, when a blanket of white snow covers the green fields of Heritage its orientation changes in form. In the cold wrap of snow, Heritage is transformed from the beautiful golf course to a cross country ski resort. The fields are used for skiing and the golf carts are used as terrain vehicles. It’s not easy to believe that a golf club could turn into a golf skiing resort, but Heritage can pull that off too. It operates an 18 kilo meter easy going ski along with various trails of snowshoe at the golf course. Other than that, Heritage also manages sleigh rides as well as dogsledding at the course while renting all-terrain vehicles. If you’re looking for snow tubing, it is also available at Montebello.
Before entering into the snow blankets, Heritage enters the Pumpkin Ball. Since this area is all farm based, the year’s harvest is usually celebrated with a Le Bal des Citrouilles in the month of October from 10-12. This is usually organized over the thanksgiving weekend. The whole aura becomes extremely festive since at Ripon approximately 20 food producers meet up at the community center which is also approximately 20 minutes away from Heritage. The festival starts with a barbecue n the Friday night which is followed by Raymond Beauchamp as it is informally known as square dancing after supper. The dance is on the famous folkloric tunes of Outaouais area.
On the weekend the markets display various things like crafts, herbal plants, vegetables and fruit. Heritage proving it to be a multi-purpose haven cannot leave the children out. For the juvenile lot, activities like pumpkin carving are carried out. Other than that a group of street animators entertain the children with juggling, acrobats and parades.
