Clubs and resturants in canberra?

I am in melbourne but will be going to canberra on the 26th can someone name some good resturants and clubs...

"Courgette" - Fine dining - 54 Marcus Clarke St, Canberra City.

"Legends" - Spanish - 5 Franklin St, Manuka.

"Artespresso" - 31 Giles St, Kingston.

"Milk and Honey" - 29 Garema Pl, Canberra City.

"Fekerte's" - Eithiopian - 2 Cape St, Dickson.

I live in Sydney, went to Canberra recently and went to all of the above, Courgette/Legends/Fekerte's for dinner, Artespresso/Milk and Honey for breakfast, also Gus's Cafe which is near Milk and Honey. Been to Fekerte's twice, has beautiful food, ordered the platter. Been to Legends twice, had tapas - about 6 or 7 smaller dishes.

All great food - Canberra seems to have great places to eat.

Courgette would be my pick out of what I have listed for the additional details you have given. I haven't been to  "The Ginger Room"  but we had considered going there.

Depends what you want out of a restaurant.

"The Ginger Room" at Old parliament house is probably Canberra's best 5 star dining restaurant.  But it is expensive.

If you are looking a bit more relaxed, go over to Kingston or Manuka.  They are only about 10 minutes out of the city.  Both of them have about 10 restaurants all next to each other.  Just walk around until you see one that grabs your eye.  Lots of Italian, Thai, Vietnamese and Turkish at both of these areas.

Canberra Clubs suck!!  Just go to the city, mostly all the clubs are on one block,  You cant miss them, just look for the fights and pools of blood or vomit outside them.

Courgette is very good.  I would also recommend it.

All of the places the person below me has mentioned are excellent.  

Fekerte's -the Eithiopean restaraunt - is very good, but probably not for a special romantic evening.  But thinking about it, I will probably go there this weekend again, the food is excellent.

Got a few that haven't been mentioned...

If you like chinese "Portia's Place" in kingston is a must.  Very popular so i'd advise booking - can be noisy though

If you would like something a little quieter try "The Haig" in braddon.  Not very big modern/italian.  Bit pricey but really good food, great service and a quiet little candlelit local secret.

Also Try "Red Salt" in the city - it's won quite a few fine dining awards especially for seafood

Oh and if you like the sound of Corjette you can also try "Aubergine" in griffith - owned and run by the same person

"The Ottoman"  for turkish fine dining

There's heaps of good restaurants, club scene is a little bland though.  Most of them are on one block in civic as previously mentioned.  we also have the belgian beer cafe in kingston with heaps of unique beers (including chocolate stout for the ladies) also serves food.  A few coctail bars in kingston and Manuka.  Depends on what you are after.  Can provide more details if necessary.
