Question:

Clueless about blush?

I'm pretty good at doing make up. I know how to do base, and powder, and I'm really good at eyes, but I'm clueless about blush. Where do you apply it, how, and how do you know what shades to use?

Obviously I never wear it, but I still want to know how to.

  1. apply it on the apples of your cheeks (if you suck in your cheeks, its the part right above that); if youre using powder use a big round brush, if you're using a stain or mousse use your fingers, just blend well; and you should use a shade thats close to your natural shade when you blush. (pinch one cheek and wait about 30 seconds and your blush should resemble that color)

    Hope i helped :)

  2. Do your ears have any color?  Sounds weird, but if they do have a natural rosy glow, use that color to select your blush color.  Apply your blush on the apples of your cheeks and chin, apply in a soft circular motion so it looks natural and blends in with your foundation and doesn't sit on top of it.

  3. Application:

Always use a blush brush with natural bristles. Qualities are the first place to begin. Smile (with teeth showing) and your apples and cheekbones will pop up. You can just apply it to the apple (in circular motion) if you like. Or you can start on your cheekbone even with the outer brow and work your way to the apple. This way, if you put too much on, it will be easier to blend toward the apple.

    Shade selection

Figure out your undertone. In a well lit room in front of a mirror, hold a white sheet of paper next to your face? What's the first color you see? If it's pink or gray, use pinks and mauves. If its olive, yellow, or blue, use oranges and corals. Berries are flattering on anyone.

Use cream blush for a sheer look and powders for a fuller coverage. Or you can layer a powder over a sheer for a standout glow.

  4. Smile and gently sweep it across the tops of you cheeks. Use a rose or peach blush

  5. use a round brush so that it doesnt come out streaked and

smile and gently sweep it across the tops of you cheeks

    dont choose anything too dark

  6. if you go to a makeup store, like sephora or something,

you can get the cosmetician to tell you the shade that would look best with you.

basically you put it along your cheekbones/and on the apples of your cheeks..

which is just the part the sticks up when you smile

  7. pink looks good on everyone using a large blush brush put some pink on it and then tap it or lightly blow of the access so as to not use too much then smile and lightly brush on the cheeks from the apples of your cheeks toward the ears.

  8. Blush is applied to the apple of your cheek. If you smile, you can tell by the part that is lifted up on your face. If you are darker complected then you will probably want a deeper darker shade. If you are lighter complected then you will want a lighter shade. There are many different colors and it is just trial and error trying to find the right one for you. I use a pink shade by covergirl and i really like it.

Another thing too, I would look into getting a blush brush because the small ones they give you that come with the blush normally, don't do as good as job of applying it evenly to your face.

  9. you apply it close to your cheek bone and use a color that is as light as your skin does not have to be but it looks better! =]

  10. The way to apply it currently in fashion is to take a puffy round brush and apply it lightly on the apples of your cheeks while you're smiling in a circular motion. In the 80's you would take a tapered brush and apply it from the apples of your cheeks going up the cheekbone but that is really out of style now.

I just spent forever searching youtube for a good one, most of them I didn't like at all! I think there's nothing worse than an outdated blush job.

To choose your perfect shade, it should match your natural blushing color. You can lightly pat or pinch your cheeks until they begin to turn pink to know what color to look for.

I use only powder blush because I have oily skin, but if you have dry skin you should try a mousse blush instead.

  11. you put blush on your cheek bones and then take a brush you can use a eye shadow brush and blend it into ether your foundation or natural coloring you also don't want to put much on a little can go a long way with blush
