Okay. I have a Sony surround system with the video/dvd player and all kind sof fun stuff. WELL, when Dish Network installed their stuff, the idiot installer had no idea how to put the cables on the back of the machine so I could use it all together with my surround sound and video/dvd player. SO, now I can watch dish but only through the TV and without surround sound, and I can watch a video or DVD with surround sound but can't use the remote because it's only programmed for the TV. Help?

  1. All you have to do is hook up your satellite receiver to your Sony sound system.

Look for the audio output jack on the back of your satellite receiver and connect it to the audio input of your sound system, does not really matter which one you use, they are all basically the same, Set your input selector to the one your cable box is hooked up to, and your should have sound from your cable box or TV.

  2. Call the Dish installer back and request somebody else to install your components right.  These guys should have done that for you in the first place.
