i have a rover 25 with 80000 miles on the clock, i drove it in a hilly area yesterday mainly in gear 2 cos i had to. however when i stopped i could smell burning clutch smell. apart frm that it takes high revs to get the car moving from a standstill (its always like that anyway and has been since i got it at 72000 miles) and stalls if i dnt put the revs in. the clutch doesnt feel like its slipping. however when i put it in 3rd gear it does make a funny noise just as the clutch engages. i drove it back on the motorway for 30 miles and no problems or smells? do i need to change the clutch? whats goin on?

thanks
