  1. it should probably still work.  Either way it won't hurt to try.  It should still smell like apples or whatever.

I used it once last year.  Scraped some dirt out and poured in onto the ground and an existing stump.  I also took real apples first and poured it over them.

As to where, thats tough given i don't know your area.  Find deer sign, such as f***s, tricks, and scrapes.  Then put it in somewhat semi secluded area about 20 ft away.  You want eh deer to feel secure when at the bait.

Then hunt the trails to and from the area.

I never hunt my feeding areas, only the routes they take to it. Then you intercept them in route to the source.

Consider creating salt licks.  Heck with buying those expensive little blocks.  They contain mostly salt with some calcium.  Buy a regular agriculture block and break it with a sledge hammer.  Dig a 10" deep hole and bury chunks of it.  As it rains it'll disolve and the deer with tear it up.  If you do want to add calcium which is essential for growth, buy a pack of mineral l**k, the powdered stuff.  You get alot more use outta a big block, and same results.  If your trying to attract deer, use corn, apples, peanut butter, oats, etc.

But to aid in antler growth you need to start licks and food supplements in the spring and continue throughout the year.

Many people wait till fall and run out and buy the c**p on the market, which is good as an attract, but serves no purpose in antler development which needs to be addressed from the time they shed til the opening day.

    Good luck.
