Cn you buy a videocard for a computer?

ok look i wanted to get the spore game but the only thing is i don't have a strong enough video card mines only 64mb and i need a 128mb. I have an hp pavillion dv6439nr laptop so if anyone could help me ill vote you as best answer.

  1. I do not believe you can upgrade the graphics card in a laptop.


  2. Yes, you can definitely get a new video card for that. I would take it into your local computer store and have them let you know which of their cards are compatible with your motherboard and they will be able to sell you the right one for you.  

  3. Most laptops have a on board video card-at least the older ones.Its hard to put a extra card in that small laptop.I would contact HP-but I think that you will have to change your main board with a better video card-and that costs.You can probably buy a new one for that to be done.

  4. well if u have a desktop then its an easy job.  

    if u want one for a laptop, ud probably have to search for it online, and turn your laptop in to get in installed for you.  careful tho, i hear that many laptop graphic cards arent so great, but there are still some out there!

  5. Contact hp  with proper information about your laptop.That's the best you can do.They always help.
