  1. go to craigslist- browse the help wanted for CNA's.

Average is 10-18 an hour starting

  2. I have been a CNA for 2 years, and I have worked for several different places. When I lived down state I made about $9.25/hour full time at a nursing home - but I recently moved up-state (near Chicago, IL ) and I make 13.50/hour no benefits @ a local nursing home and 14.60/hour working at different local places (through an agency that staffs various healthcare facilities throughout the state.- agencies usually pay the most but you will have to work at different places and sometimes travel )

SO we make a few dollars over minimum wage. - the closer you are to a Metorpolis the more you will get.

the later in the day you work the more you will make - night and evening shifts usually get about 50 to 75cents or so more per hour.

best to worst pay in IL - agencies, then nursing homes, then hospitals, then assisted living and mental hospitals, then doctors offices!

also some nursing homes are union - so they will give good benefits.

    good luck!

  3. i went to school to become a cna and i didnt like it. all you can really do is change bed pans, and bed linen, bath patients, wipe butts and thats about it. youre really limited to what you can do and i ended up going for my lpn and paramedic license...but i work in real estate now...most of the time you dont need certification to be a cna but i would volunteer first and see how you like it. in va the starting pay is between 7-8 dollars an hour.
