Co Adriaanse: I’ve rarely seen a player like Nacer Chadli – Dutch Eredivisie news
Newly-appointed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede manager, Co Adriaanse, has come out praising winger Nacer Chadli, revealing that he has hardly seen a player more complete player.
The tactician has moved the 21-year-old, who played at the left flank in the season ended under the leadership of Michel Preud’homme, to a more central attacking position.
The Belgian International arrived at De Grolsch Veste in the summer of 2010 after spending three seasons at AGOVV Apeldoorn. Chadli impressed the Tukkers faithful with his good performances and managed to cement his place in the starting eleven. The youngster
played 33 games in the 2010/11 season and scored seven goals while providing plenty of assists.
After Adriaanse took over from Preud’homme, the 21-year-old was believed to be in danger of losing the starting-eleven berth. However, Co Adriaanse has been impressed with the youngster in the pre-season training.
“I have rarely seen such a complete player like Nacer. I really do not know what he cannot do. Nacer is creative, strong, fast, has a great free kick and he turns excellently. Everything is beautiful in him, even his face”, Adriaanse said while talking to
the journalists.
The vastly experienced trainer went on to reveal that Chadli would be given the number 10 – often awarded to the most creative player in the side –  jersey for the upcoming season.
“Such a good player should have the ball as often as possible, so I would like to see him in No. 10. What he has shown so far is impressive”, the Dutch trainer concluded.
With the 63-year-old keen to use the Belgian International in a more central attacking position, Bryan Ruiz’s role on the pitch would have to be redefined. The Costa Rican International was normally used as the second striker in the season ended.
Ruiz is now likely to play in a more advanced position of central forward, where he performed rather impressively under Steve McClaren in the 2009/10 season, netting an impressive 24 goals in 34 appearances.
