Co Adriaanse: Leroy Fer not the replacement of Bryan Ruiz – Dutch Eredivisie news
Co Adriaanse, FC Twente Enschede manager, has revealed that newly acquired http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leroy-Fer-c22126 is not the replacement of Bryan Ruiz, who joined Fulham FC in the recently concluded summer transfer market. The Tukkers managed to lure the 21-year-old to De Grolsch Veste
from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam on the final day of the transfer window.
The Dutch trainer admitted that Fer is an impressive midfielder, but cannot be compared with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458 Rican hitman. The tactician then added that the departure of Theo Janssen and Ruiz would certainly affect his side’s style of play.
“Bryan was a principal scorer. Leroy is a midfielder. He has other qualities. The players are not totally comparable. The departure of Ruiz and, earlier, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 will soon be showing a different kind of football. That seems logical
to me. We have other players”, Adriaanse said.
Meanwhile, Fer is hoping to make his debut for the Tukkers in his side’s upcoming encounter against Roda JC Kerkrade at Parkstad Limburg Stadion on Saturday, September 10.
The young midfielder admitted that he is fully fit and wants to prove himself and revealed that he is looking forward to get some playing time against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375.
“I am fit and would like to show what I can do. The coach said that I must prove myself to the team. That's what I'm trying to do. Hopefully I'll get some playing time in Kerkrade”, Fer was quoted as saying to the media.
The 21-year-old then went on to reveal that the Tukkers have been competing for the title in recent years, which was his real motivation in making a move away from De Kuip Stadion.
“This club is playing for the title and at European level. That means I'll develop better”, Fer concluded.
The Dutch International played 103 matches for the Rotterdam giants and scored 14 goals before signing a contract with the Tukkers that will keep him at De Grolsch Veste until the summer of 2014.
