So my boyfriend and his co-workers have been complaining about another co-worker who is a supervisor that has been pretty disrespectful and really just overall an @sshole to people he supervises and works for. My boyfriend, also a supervisor, along with two other supervisors and a few co-workers were asked to speak to the directors and top guy about this rude supervisor. Anyways, they fired him after speaking to my boyfriend and the others. Well, now the rude supervisor has stated that he will find out everyone who spoke up against him and beat the living c**p outta them. He took the phone list from work that lists everyone's contact information including their addresses.

Well apparently, one of the people who spoke up against him was his ex-gf who also worked there. Anyways, he went to her house, broke in, and beat the c**p outta her, breaking her ribs. Mind you, this girl is an auxillary police officer in my town and works security full time. She's a tough girl. The police arrested him but he was able to bail himself out.

The directors and the head honchos knew about him threatening to hurt people because my boyfriend's boss called him Thursday night to warn him about it. Now my question is, can they be held liable for her injuires and for any other injuries that may occur from this man since they knew about it but did nothing but warn their employees? I mean they didn't even go to the police. The man basically has a hit list. I'm worried about my boyfriend to the point where I'm ready to just go to the police myself but I don't know all the facts. I mean, the police have to do something right? They can't wait for him to hurt someone else, they're supposed to prevent crime.

We basically have an idea who the next person would be that he may try to hurt.

  1. People threaten people all the time.   and the company is not responsible for the actions this man takes. You could put a report on him but it might be a wast of time but try it anyway.and yes the law is suppose to protect us but sometimes fail us instead of helping us.Go to youre local police department and talk to them and see what they recomend.

  2. The only thing you can do is to send your company a letter making it official that you feel threatened, and ask the company to work the issue and file a police report. Also you can file for a restraining order.

  3. file a restraining order.quick!

  4. Employees should start filing restraining orders immediately!  Get an attorney who specializes in labor law in your state to see if the employees, including the one who was attacked, have any cause of action against the employer for failure to notify them of the "hit list" or to take preventive measures.  And ensure the company seriously steps up security at the company premises.  This is a prospect for "going postal."  Take every precaution at home, at work, everywhere.

  5. Yes the company can be held liable for not notifying it's employees that someone is out to get them. Even though the guy was able to get out on bail and you have an idea who is next, they should be warned and the police should to contacted. This guy is a danger to all.

  6. Warning their employees was all they were required to do. Many people threaten, yet nothing happens.

"I mean they didn't even go to the police."

The police wouldn't do anything because the employee had done nothing.

Have that person get a restraining order...and have your bf get one.

  7. Take this to the police. File a restraining order and show them the facts. They should have to do something. Good luck to you and your boyfriend.
